Hi Iris Nice to meet you. I guess we could trade dreams, I dream of coming to China preferably Beijng, while you dream of coming to America. We just have to work on that. Shangai sounds like an exciting place to study.
Even thogh I currently teach Pre-k, I believe technology is a great tool to enhance children's learning. In the end I would like to be a technology coordinator.

Hi Iris,

I definitely have encountered this problem. I love a program called ThinkQuest NYC (http://tqnyc.org) Here students form teams and create educational websites on topics agreed upon by their teachers. Additionally, they can create digital movies on topics that show their vision of how to make the world a better place.

The program offers tutorials, and a help desk. Yet, many teachers are hesitant about using it because of the added "work" involved! I push it as much as I can, but many teachers are resistant to bringing advances technology to their classrooms.

I love using the technology to help teach students about things that are outside their realm of possibilities.

Hi Iris,

I left a message for you. We do the same job! I work for the Office of Instructional Technology for the New York City Department of Education. I instruct teachers on how to use technology in the classroom. I would love to share information. I am in Dr. McPherson's graduate course.

Hope to hear from you!

Hello, my name is Keri and I'm a 7th grade teacher in New York.
I am a student of Dr. McPherson's. I was wondering what it was like being a teacher/educator in Beijing. I'm sure it must have been pretty interesting there this summer! I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I apologize, I have been teaching theatre arts in a public school in the Bronx. The children are excited about being engaged in performing.

I hope to know more about taping their performances so they can see themselves. Knowing about the technology which I can use for this purpose is my interest. I am grateful for any suggestions. Nancy

Greetings Iris, Can you tell me something about Shanghai?
I have never been there and I hear it is very special.

Also, there is mention of its' beauty a song by John Denver as he feels the breezes of Shanghai.

Hello my long lost friend. I haven't been able to chat in our usual way because my computer crashed. When it was restored my chat program was gone. I've tried to set it up again but I don't have the correct account name and can't seem to get anything to work. I need to start over with my account and contacts. I hope you enjoy meeting others on this project. I will keep trying to set up another account to chat and let you know when I have it working. So good to hear from you again. How are you feeling? Are you going to stay in Beijing this summer for the Olympics?
I'm thinking about a conference in Singapore in August. Maybe you could come.
