I teach a program known as Universal Pre-k where students meet for two sessions, 2 1/2 hrs respectively. Early Childhood here is considered from ages Birth - 2nd grade. Is it the same there in Japan, and if not, what is the difference? How much importance is placed on the education of preschoolers? I'm sure it varies from country to country.
