This is my concept map of a Japanese proverb.
Many proverb in Japan came from China, but there are some Japanese ones.
Therefore, I'll introduce you one Japanese proverb.
I hope you like and understand it.
This is great. We say 'haste makes waste' which is similar. When we're in a hurry we sometimes do a sloppy job or forget to do something. My former dean used to say "if you don't have much time to do the task when will you have time to do it over?"
Your proverb also reminds me of the tortoise and the hare fable.
Hey Nozomi-chan,
Great proverb!
I think it is particularly helpful for NYC residents to hear because it seems like everyone here is always on the rush, and always looking for a short-cut.
It reminds me of people I've seen in movies where they are trying to earn money fast, but they take the short route to affluency, which lands them in the jail because they were doing illegal things to get to the end. The means to the end is always important.

How true - rumors and gossip can take so much time and resources and at times can be so destructive. Yet it seems human nature ... to doubt the the truth and sensationalize the rumor.
Hi Ho,
This is deep!
I really do have issues with people spreading rumors and gossip, when most of them are lies... This king in the example is a really bad example of a ruler.
People should really hear all sides of the story and investigate the truth for themselves before they believe anything. Thinking is power.
